ABOUT US

The Foundation of Social Integration Prom was established in 2004. We’ve been hosting ESC volunteers in our children’s center, Brave Kids project, our office, Polish kindergartens and schools in Wroclaw since 2009. Apart from ESC projects, we’re also involved in local projects that support the integration of people and groups of people at risk of marginalization and social exclusion such as children from disadvantaged backgrounds, Roma minority, and people with mental health issues.

VOLUNTEERING IN KINDERGARTENS AND A DEMOCRATIC SCHOOL

MID JANUARY – MID JULY 2024 (7 MONTHS)

This volunteering position combines a range of diverse tasks from administration, office management to social media management, and organizing promotional events.

• 35 hours of hybrid volunteering work (home office and foundations’s office) per week (6 hours per day) + 5 extra hours per week for group meetings with volunteers to plan activities for local events and produce materials.
• updating information on the foundation’s website, Facebook page, Instagram and YouTube channel (translating, editing, writing new articles, adding photos, videos, etc.);
• creating promotional materials and visuals for events and social media; searching for local events on Facebook that the Foundation can join;
• taking photos and shooting videos during events and workshops; taking an active part in all stages of events related to the dissemination of the project results such as proposing ideas, helping with logistics and schedule of the event under the supervision of the foundation’s staff; promoting Foundation’s activities in the local media – creating short texts and photo reports;
• participating in the events for NGOs (presentations, workshops, trainings, integration activities) together with the foundation’s staff;
• helping in the inventory of materials and equipment belonging to the Foundation (aids, toys, advertising materials and documentation);
• ordering new advertising materials; co-organizing extra events for the group of volunteers such as intercultural evenings, workshops, etc.;
• managing and reorganizing the foundation’s partner database, photo and video documentation;
• contributing ideas to updates of internal documentation related to integration and evaluation meetings with volunteers.

FRIENDSHIP ART EDUCATION FOUNDATION

The volunteer will support Lelenfant 2024 edition of the project by assisting with many elements of planning, preparation and production, including (but not limited to):

• researching and maintaining contact with specific artistic groups;
• researching grants and sponsors for groups (companies, consulates, embassies, etc.);
• coordination of elements of the program (assistance to instructors who work with the children, leaders of international groups, support in coordination of local volunteers);
• managing expectations, collecting necessary paperwork, helping to arrange logistical details;
• creating and updating documents for the project (e.g. invitations, cooperation agreements, etc.);
• writing descriptive and promotional materials for the project (for patronage, social media, promotion, website, etc.);
• participating in weekly staff meetings and assisting in creating a schedule of events;
• presenting about ESC to Volunteers, Group Leaders and Host Families; preparing workshops related to the topic of climate change and global education;
• developing and coordinating of activities for local participants (meetings for host families, children, and local volunteers);
• preparing and leading intercultural, ecological workshops (including teaching languages) for local children contributing to project reports with information about individual projects they supported.

PROUD VOLUNTEERS FOR SOLIDARITY 7

MARCH 1ST – JULY 31ST 2024.

• Volunteering hours are 35 hours per week in the kindergarten (6 hours per day) + 5 extra hours per week for planning activities for local events that promote the project and the European Solidarity Corps.
• RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Taking part in Polish classes throughout the volunteering mobility (Polish classes are included in the 6 hours per day).
• Supporting the teacher with managing the group of children in a safe manner in the classroom and outside (on trips, in the playground).
• Supporting young children in self-help activities like helping in dressing up, feeding, leading the child by the hand somewhere if needed etc).
• Presenting your country and culture to children and teachers by running workshops, creating visual aids, dances and other activities. Engaging in and supporting events in the hosting organization (e.g. Christmas party, Children’s Day, Mother’s Day and Dad’s Day, etc.).
• Creating and supporting arts and crafts workshops according to interest and skills/ different art techniques, clay, paper-mâché (paper pulp), salt dough etc. Creating workshops according to your interests (ecological, dance, art, drawing, playing musical instruments, theatre, etc.).
• Running language activities for children (teach your native language or English) For example, teach children simple phrases, games, songs, poems, counting, and days of the week.
• This can be a part of an everyday routine not only during special activities. Making teaching aids for classes according to the participant’s ideas and according to the suggestions of other teachers.
• Helping to improve the kindergarten’s aesthetics by making decorations for special occasions and decorating rooms and corridors independently and together with staff.
• Proposing and organizing activities promoting the project and its results (e.g. keeping a wall newspaper about ESC in the kindergarten hall with pictures, news about workshops, writing a blog, reports, doing picture documentation).
• Participating in 4 out of 10 events outside the host. org. to promote the project and the European Solidarity Corps (e.g local festivals, picnics).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Polish language course (twice a week, 4 school hours).
• Obligatory on-arrival and mid-term training in Poland. 6 hours of work per day (35 hours in host.org. per week + 5 hours for extra activities outside the host.org.).
• All the required medical examinations, 4-day training in our office to get participants started, health and safety training in host.org. are provided at the beginning of the project.
• Local transportation card (for trams, buses and night buses).
• Mentor’s support throughout the entire project.

Support of a special mentor and additional support (e.g. psychologist) for participants who experience obstacles in their lives (health issues, geographic, social, educational, economic obstacles).

TRAVEL MONEY: UP TO 275/360 €

POCKET MONEY: 150€/MONTH

FOOD MONEY: 150€/MONTH

Place in a double room in a flat shared with other participants or students (with Internet access, equipped kitchen, clean towels and bedsheets).

The flats have a «student standard».
